cjane is my bff

I don't even know what to say about this show.  Basically, y'all know I love Fictionist.
Did you know I love The New Electric Sound?  Me neither.
I mean, I knew I really liked them, but then all the sudden I was 50 feet away and I was in love.

We also saw and partook of the Waffle Love truck for the first time.
Yeah, also in love with that.  So good.  I'd even take a plain waffle.

I just don't even know what else to say, because I'm still in my post concert coma.
So please enjoy these songs that are currently always stuck in my head.

And if anybody asks, I want to marry them all.

i'm a time bomb

I dub today the craziest day in my academic history.
Maybe just in college.  Because I don't really remember, but I'm pretty sure I worked harder in high school.  Maybe.

BUT.  I mostly finished, and going to bed at 2 am still gives me a solid 6 hours of sleep.  That, I can deal with.

I'm a little amazed I got things done, even if I had to skip class to do it.  It's a little ridiculous, but I'm a little ridiculous.  And it will all work out in the end.  Or iOt won't.

Wanna know my secret?

Five hour energy.  Chocolate milk.  A cute boy sitting across the table to keep me at the library.
& The Format.

One more Monday, people!  We can do it!

audiofile, audiophile

the days are flying by.

in a week and a half, i will be done with classes.

so, that's exciting and terrifying.  ask me if I'm working as hard as I should.  actually, don't.

to make sure I actually left the house for something other than class this week,
i got tickets to go to a screening of BYUtv's new show Audio-Files.
it's basically a behind-the-scenes look at awesome people who do awesome things like raise goats and have a band name that's a secret anagram.  and play really cool music.

it was amazing.  they showed two episodes: Imagine Dragons & Joshua James.

mind blown.  the producers kept telling us how much they're trying to change their image at BYUtv.
as much as we love to listen to the men behind the pulpit, they want to show other talents as well.

we got a glimpse at "not your parent's BYUtv" and we are so excited.  they're featuring so many talented artists, and I feel lucky to have seen two of my favorite.  (ask me how much I love imagine dragons.)

(and we sat right behind joshua james!  and some other probably famous people with great hair and beards)

the show begins mid-April, so keep your eye out!  we can't wait to watch the rest.
we love evolution.

p.s.  another new show called the song that changed my life featured Fictionist!

i need a therapist like crazy

I took a little trip to the SLC last night to 1) see Maggie, 2) see Like Crazy, and 3) eat food and cry.

Some of these things went better than the others.

Maggie, of course, is great.  We went to Himalayan Kitchen and fell in love.  With each other, and the giant bread basket (stuffed naan?  YES).  I got lamb coconut curry and felt very classy in my sparkly shirt that I did not spill on, thank you.

Then we went to the movie.

Y'all...

I had such high expectations for this film.  It wasn't bad, per se.  I just couldn't deal with my emotions!
For the first 10-15 min I was so in love with their love I couldn't stand it.
For the rest of the time I was confused.  I was stressed.  I had wanted to cry so bad, and there was a time or two when I could have, but it wouldn't come out.  And that stressed me out even more.  So, we're rolling along.

And it ends.  Very ambiguously.  Which is fine, I guess.
The credits start rolling and suddenly I'm sobbing.  And laughing.  Because the three guys behind us were sharing our same hateful sentiments towards the whole thing.

The best part of the credits was the song.  It was also in the trailer and I am beyond obsessed.

i'm obsessed

Something about General Conference, boys, and having your best friend on a mission will put things in perspective:

I need to move from hardly working to working hard.
I need to remember that college crushes will probably last just as long as high school ones for a while.
I need to stop idolizing people and remember that I am just as cool.
Checking the mailbox four times a day will not magically put anything in there.

Everyone should always listen to these guys all the time (yeah):

After just deciding a few weeks ago that "Ye Elders of Israel" is my favorite hymn, I fell in love with their version!  It's beautiful.  I bought it this morning and have already listened to it 15 times in the short time I've been at home.

Come and be obsessed and happy!

inspiration

you know when something is so beautiful, you just can't stop watching or hearing?

that's my inspiration.
and when it happens, i can't let go.

i can't tell you how many times i've listened to this song,
but it's been on repeat ever since i found it last night.

here comes your man

if by man, you mean my principal handing me my diploma tonight, then yep, here he comes.
i'm blaming my absence on the interwebs and at my public high school, on this event and I apologize.

so here's the good stuff:

my mom is in town and loves Mindy Gledhill.  a lot.
so naturally, we're going to venture down to the utah county tomorrow night to see a show!

only after i did my research did i realize that meaghan smith, is THE meaghan smith from the 500 days soundtrack.  you best believe that made me want to buy every single non-exsistent ticket.

so come!  come to dance and sing along and party like it's finally summer.
i'm thrilled to be able to make this show and i might actually pee my pants when i see C. Jane.
and meaghan and mindy and ryan...

"that's because it is delicious!"

this week:

had a fantastic spring break with my favorite sister in missouri
(not to be confused with my favorite sisters everywhere else)

my best friend got his mission call
to the same mission my cousin is in

picked my apartment for BYU this fall
not exactly what I wanted, but I have a feeling it's going to be perfect

got some fun things to add to my wardrobe

went rock climbing for the first time
found out I am awesome at tying knots, but still terrified of heights
but I did it!

went on an awesome date, laughed a lot, thought about the future

couldn't sleep

and listened to these guys all night long
  it's been a while

oh valium-times!

14 things I love on this day of love:

1) Anthropologie's wedding line that launched today!
If I was getting married and had all the money in the world I would buy...
this lacy sweater to wear over my dress after the ceremony,
either of these gorgeous belts to wear with the above,
these darling shoes because I need them,
and these to wear while dancing,
(all pictures via)

2) chick flicks, of course.
I especially love 500 Days of Summer because
it's a more realistic portrayal of love without being stuffy.
and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

3) my cowl from Target
I love all scarves really, but I have been so obsessed
with infinity scarves and cowls lately.
So cute. So practical (warm).

Oh my goodness.  Amazing photographers
and an amazing family.
Can I be her, please?

5) cute Russian apartment things from Urban Outfitters.

6) James Franco and his new book.
I'm considering ordering it for myself for Valentine's.
Expect a review soon:)

7) my Psychology class.
I'm beginning to hate school, but talking about
babies and relationships and funny things in Psych makes it all worth it.

8) Baths.  You best believe I'm having one tonight.
I've decided that at least one a week is necessary.
I pour in this:
and set up a playlist with my favorite music and I'm good to go.

9) I LOVE awkward pictures of me and Kar.
Especially since those of the only ones we can ever get...

10) this list may soon make you think that i love school,
but don't be fooled.
I love my Fashion Merchandising class.
I love learning correct terms for hems and necklines and sleeves
and I'm excited to cover fabrics and the business side.
It makes me want to be a textile designer.
For some reason I signed up to compete in Apparel & Accessories in State DECA
& to be in charge of vendor relations and sales for our upcoming Prom Expo at school.
Wish me luck.

11) sweet music.
I love this cool lady,
and these lovelies by my supposed celebrity lookalike.
They will be played at my wedding.

12) Names.
Baby names, grown up names.
I'm such a girl, but I love people and I love their names.
I found out tonight that my aunt doesn't like one of my future children's names,
but I'm sure I'll change my mind anyway.

13) Camping.  Oh my.  I'm such a nature nerd.  I will save the planet.
This weekend's weather was amazing and I was craving the [higher] mountain air.
I would take my recycled toothbrush and all of my flannel.
This is the only thing I crave about summer.

14)  I love love.  And what I love most is my family.
I am so blessed and have so much family to go around.
I love being the youngest because I get to travel to see them all
and they love to give me advice:)
I LOVE YOU.

I love.  :)

the new MJ

I have the coolest brother ever.
I can say this because I only have one,
but if I had another, he'd have to be seriously awesome to be as cool as Mike.

Occasionally, my brother and his darling family come to Utah to visit (which I love love love) and when he came this summer, he got me hooked on Mason Jennings.

My cousin Megan is fantastic, just like her taste in music, and she pretty much idolizes my brother because he's "so cool!"  So they just talk and share music and I like to listen in.  It's adorable.

So, Mason Jennings is this dad who loves his music.  It's raw, and real, and beautiful.
Here's one I've loved since the beginning:

and one that is nice for me right now:

enjoy.
